What makes Gold Class special?

Gold Class upgrades the 1891-built Kuranda Scenic Railway into a rolling lounge. When you board the train, a uniformed host greets you and keeps your backpack away before the train starts its journey. You can expect departures to pair locally roasted coffee with nuts, cheese boards or mango sorbet. What makes the experience better is that all produce is freshly sourced within 200km! Two hours later, you glide into Kuranda rested, fed, and ready to explore.

  • Lounge-style seating: High-back, plush cushioning, footrest, and power outlet for charging.

  • Dedicated host service: Bags hung, towels supplied, drinks topped up, quick answers to dietary or mobility questions.

  • Locally sourced menu: Locally grown coffee, cheese platter, selection of wine; menu rotates every six months to stay seasonal.

  • Take-home souvenir pack: Souvenir set exclusive to Gold Class travelers.

How to secure Gold Class

Booking schedule

Reserve at least six weeks ahead for dry-season (Jun–Oct) mornings. If your dates are flexible, mid-week trains often have spare seats outside Australian school breaks.

Peak-season sell-out alerts

Wet-season waterfalls (Dec–Mar) draw photographers. If the Gold Class train is full, ride up in Heritage, explore Kuranda, then return in Gold.

Cancellation & re-booking flexibility

Make sure to check the cancellation policy for full refund or rescheduling your dates.
